About This Product
Weights placed on the weight platform supply torque to the spinning rotor, producing the gyroscopic couple, while the weight of the motor is balanced by another weight. Students time the precession with the stopwatch and set rotor speed with the dimmerstat as a THEORY OF MACHINE LAB exercise. Supplied with a technical manual, it is one of the engineering educational equipments in India that demonstrate gyroscopic couple with a motor-driven rotor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. How is gyroscopic couple applied? By putting weights (0.2 kg, 0.5 kg and 1 kg) on the weight platform, which supplies torque to the rotor.
Q2. What services does the apparatus need? A 220v stabilized AC supply with earthing connection and a bench area of 0.5 x 0.5m at working height.
Q3. Is a tachometer included? No. A tachometer for speed measurement can be supplied as an extra.
