About This Product
Heat from the central mica heater passes through the plates arranged in series on each side, and the thermocouple tappings give the temperatures at various points through the wall. From the measured input power and these temperatures, students work out the conductivity and resistance of the composite wall in a HEAT TRANSFER LAB conduction experiment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Which materials make up the composite wall? Pairs of M.S. plates (25 mm), Bakelite plates (10 mm) and brass/aluminum plates (15 mm), all 250 mm in diameter, arranged in series on either side of the heater.
Q2. What is measured on the composite walls apparatus? Input power with a voltmeter and ammeter, and temperatures at various points with a multichannel digital temperature indicator through the thermocouple tappings.
