About This Product
Teachers use the key to keep a circuit open while the wiring is checked, then insert the plug so current flows only while a reading is taken. It controls cells, lamps, buzzers and meters in Ohm's law, resistance, meter bridge and potentiometer set-ups. Within Electrical And Electronics practicals it is meant only for current-limited, low-voltage supplies, never mains.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. How does the one-way plug key close a circuit? Inserting the conductive plug bridges the two contact blocks and creates electrical continuity between them.
Q2. What happens when the plug is removed? The contact path is broken, the circuit becomes open and current stops flowing.
Q3. Can the circuit key be used on mains electricity? No. It is intended for supervised, current-limited, low-voltage experiments and must not be connected directly to mains.
