About This Product
Sounding the forks one after another lets students relate vibration frequency to perceived pitch and see that sound comes from a vibrating body. Designed for secondary, senior-secondary and undergraduate demonstrations, this Physics Miscellaneous Products set also works with compatible resonance tubes, boxes and sonometer arrangements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. How many tuning forks does the Eight Piece Tuning Fork Set contain? It contains eight fixed-frequency tuning forks, each producing its own characteristic tone.
Q2. Does the tuning fork set need electricity? No. A fork is set vibrating by striking one prong gently with a soft striker, so no electrical supply is needed.
Q3. How should the forks be struck? Hold the fork by its stem without touching the prongs and strike one prong gently with a soft striker. Do not hit the forks against metal, glass or benches, and do not hold vibrating prongs against the ear.
